FAQ
The Clearflow Gel Flocculant removes soil particles such as clay, silt and algae, as well as contaminants like the nutrient phosphorus and heavy metals.
In some cases, yes. Clearflow Gel Flocculants remove very fine particles from water. When certain metals are attached to those particles, they are removed at the same time. Results vary based on the water and the type of metal. Contact us to discuss what results you can expect.
No, Clearflow products are non-toxic and environmentally safe. The molecules are too large to bioaccumulate and, unlike cationic polymers, will not suffocate fish or other aquatic organisms.
Environment Canada-certified toxicity tests on fish (fathead minnow, rainbow trout), water fleas and algae have been conducted on the Clearflow products

Many erosion control and water treatment products are sold as “one-size-fits-all,” but they don’t always work the same at every site. Soil type and water conditions can vary widely, and when a product doesn’t work, it is because testing wasn’t done to prior to use.
Clearflow takes a different approach. We match our products to your specific soil or water conditions, so they work more effectively from the start. This means better results, less product used, and fewer surprises—while remaining environmentally responsible.
It depends, but we can provide typical ranges. In open ditch applications, Clearflow products commonly last 60–90 days. When used in a reactor, typical life is 4–6 weeks. Actual performance will vary based on water quality, solids loading, particle characteristics, and changing site conditions. These timeframes are provided as general guidance only and are not a guarantee of performance.
